NZMTC CHAIRMAN’S WELCOME

On behalf of the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club, we look forward to welcoming you to the 2011 Christchurch Casino Inter Dominion Championships.

The Christchurch Casino Inter Dominion Championships is Australasia’s premier harness racing event and a time honoured Carnival that is steeped in tradition. The New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club is proud to welcome back the Inter Dominions to Addington Raceway and to Christchurch for the first time since 2003.

These Championships promise to be one of the greatest ever conducted. Not only could it feature superstars such as Blacks A Fake, Auckland Reactor, Monkey King, Tintin In America, Sundons Gift and One Over Kenny attempting to re-write the record books, it will also feature the best up and coming stars of harness racing throughout the Carnival.

Inter Dominion Grand Final Night on Saturday 9 April promises to be the greatest night of harness racing ever staged in New Zealand with five Group 1 events to be conducted on a sensational programme of great racing and entertainment.

Harness Racing is part of the culture and a way of life in the South Island of New Zealand. It is one of the few parts of the world where harness racing attracts bigger crowds and is more popular than thoroughbred racing. As well as providing the ultimate harness racing experience, the South Island of New Zealand has fantastic tourist destinations, amazing scenery and a multitude of great things to see, do and places to visit.
